Magneti Marelli Checkstar enthusiastically renews the partnership with 2023 Supersport World Champion Nicolò Bulega in his new Superbike adventure with the Aruba.it Racing - Ducati team. This year, he will hit the track with a Panigale V4 R: the bike changes, but the colors of the helmet remain the iconic ones of the Magneti Marelli Checkstar logo.
In the triumphant 2023 Supersport season, the Emilian talent clinched the title three races ahead at Portimão, securing the championship with 14 races and 18 podiums.
Transitioning to Superbike, Nicolò, who, like Magneti Marelli Checkstar, always aims for excellence, remains loyal to the team that brought him global success and to Ducati, sharing the box with teammate Alvaro Bautista.
Bulegas 2024
The first tests held at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit (Spain) in preparation for the 2024 season saw Bulega adapt perfectly to the new category, even beating the absolute track record with a time of 1’37”809, placing himself at the top of the charts on both days.
But it doesn't end there. On the Portimão circuit in Algarve, he was the only one to clock under 1’40’’, confirming his championship status over the two test days and setting a record time of 1’39’’913.
In the last week, ahead of the race weekend, tests were held at Phillip Island where Nicolò classified in second place with a time of 1’28’’585, trailing teammate Razgatlioglu by just 74 milliseconds.
The 2024 Superbike World Championship
The season promises to be one of the most exciting in recent years, with some of the top riders of the moment in the lineup: Jonathan Rea, Andrea Iannone, Sam Lowes, and Alvaro Bautista. The championship will kick off on February 23 at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit (Australia) and conclude on October 20 at Jerez de la Frontera (Spain).
For the first time, the Superbike will also race on a new circuit from September 20 to 22, the Cremona Circuit: a challenging track, spanning 3.7 kilometers.
The Emilian champion will face fierce competition, but his extraordinary skills and unbeatable determination will allow him to compete on par with the best riders in the world of Superbike.
We wish Nicolò the best of luck for his new Superbike adventure, which will begin this weekend at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.
